If the movement is fundamentally dependent upon 'renewable' energy, then the goals are misguided from the start given the accumulating evidence these energy sources are neither 'green/clean' nor sustainable. Renewables continue to have ecologically negative impacts, rely upon ecologically-destructive processes and finite, non-renewable resources (including the fossil fuel platform), increase, rather than decrease, their user's dependence on such technology, and increase overall complexity that is reliant upon increasing energy production/consumption.
