I fear that the elite will (or should I say, are) taking us on a trajectory that pre/history shows they always tend to follow when a complex society begins/continues its decline: economic manipulation (particularly currency devaluation); sociobehavioural control (especially increased narrative management/propaganda including attacks upon 'truth-tellers'); increasing competition over dwindling resources (including war); and, increased magical thinking (stronger adherence to the belief that our human-contrived systems--such as politics and science--can overcome the societal cycle of collapse because of human ingenuity and technology). Throw the predicament of ecological overshoot on top of this 'collapse conundrum' and the future looks increasingly bleak.

Think I'll go spend a bit more time in my expanding food gardens...
