It would seem that the imperial project of the West (any imperial project for that matter) has run its course as must and does happen, repeatedly. The ruling elite, however, cannot and will not acknowledge such for a variety of reasons.

Your article has me reflecting upon the 'priesthood' that serves to keep the pursuit of the infinite growth chalice alive and the impact this has on society's narratives, particularly when it comes to expectations/predictions about the future.
