Another excellent post.

I continue to believe that the entire 'electrify everything' narrative has virtually nothing to do with reducing emissions or saving the planet. It has arisen as a result of our society's sociopathic profit-makers/-takers discovering a means of monetising carbon and increasing their wealth-generation/-extraction schemes/rackets--as they tend to do with everything.

And, unfortunately, there exist a huge number of very well-intentioned (but very misguided in my opinion) people that have bought into the tale hook, line, and sinker.

Add to this the societal myth that our ingenuity and technological prowess can 'solve' any issue (because haven't we always done so?) and we have arrived at a juncture where rather than stop digging at the bottom of the hole we have found ourselves trapped within, we have more and more people grabbing shovels and increasing the depth of our trap (i.e., ecological overshoot).

We are a very intelligent story-telling ape, just not nearly as wise as our self-appointed nomenclature declares.

The coming years are going to be most interesting to experience...
